Ullom has been going to Honkers’ game since he was a young boy roaming the streets of Dodge Center. He had the chance to play at Mayo Field, and loved the way the music built into baseball atmosphere. He knew it was something he wanted to do.
Ullom has played music for the Minnesota State Section Playoffs at Franklin Rodgers Field in Mankato, Minn., played music and did public address work for St. Clair High School baseball and softball in St. Clair, Minn. He loved how the people responded to the music.
“It’s a lot of fun doing the songs for the kids,” Ullom said. “I think they get excited. I think that you can really bring excitement to a game.”
He loves the idea of being at the ballpark during his time off in the summer. He has loves the game and is very excited to get to work this summer.
“Being at the ballpark and having summers off from school, it is just the perfect fit for me,” Ullom said.
Ullom graduated from Triton High School in 2004 and now teaches Social Studies at St. Clair High School.
The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
