PRESS RELEASE – Since March the Green Bay Bullfrogs have been working with Green Bay East high school students to develop a design for the team’s 2016 alternate jersey. The Bullfrogs received submissions from Green Bay East’s graphic design class taught by Mark Dix as part of the Asphalt Seal and Repair and Scray Cheese Alternate Jersey Design Contest.
“Partnering with the Bullfrogs and Big Top Baseball on this project was wonderful,” said Mark Dix, teacher of Design 2 Art at Green Bay East. “I was looking for a real world project for the students to participate in to show them what it meant to meet deadlines, work with project guidelines and this was an ideal project at a great time for our class. I was thrilled with the response from the students and the quality work they put together. It has been great seeing the student’s responses to the winning design.”
After taking all designs into consideration, the Bullfrogs are proud to announce the winner is Alex Alvarez-Gonzalez. This uniform is the first of two alternate uniforms the Bullfrogs will unveil this year.
This community event was made possible due to the support of Asphalt Seal and Repair and Scray Cheese. The alternate jersey will be worn by the team for the first time on Thursday, June 9th when the Bullfrogs take on the Kalamazoo Growlers at 6:35 pm. The jersey will be worn during both select road and home games throughout the season and will be auctioned off late in the season. Alex will receive a complimentary uniform featuring his design and be given the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at the June 9th game, along with his fellow students who participated in the contest.
