PRESS RELEASE – Evans Street Baseball is giving you the opportunity of a lifetime – the chance to help us name your hometown baseball team.
Starting on April 7, 2016 you, the fans, will have the opportunity to take to www.BMETS.com and submit your ideas for the new name of the 2017 AA-Mets. We are looking for a new name that embodies what Binghamton, NY is known for; what makes Binghamton different than any other city in the world. You never know, you might just secure your spot in the Binghamton Baseball history by having the winning submission. If your name is chosen, we’ll reward you with Two (2) Season Tickets for the 2017 Season, a personalized official home jersey, and the chance to throw out the first pitch at a game TBD in 2017.
FIRST ROUND: NAME SUBMISSIONS
How to Enter – Starting at 9:00am on Opening Day for the 2016 season, April 7th, fans will be able to submit their ideas for the new team name for the 2017 AA-Mets. The Name The Team contest will continue up to 11:59pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016. All fans must fill out the entry form that will be found on www.BMETS.com with all required fields being filled in for your entry to be valid.
Eligibility – All entrants must be 18 years of age or older, be a legal resident of New York or Pennsylvania, have a valid email address, and internet access as of the time of entry.
Judging – All name submissions will be evaluated on by a variety of factors including but not limited to: originality, creativity, uniqueness, regional relevance, and appropriateness for audience.
All entries will be reviewed on April 22, 2016 and the top five names submitted will advance to the Second Round.
SECOND ROUND: THE FINAL FIVE
Judging – After the top five names have been determined by the judging committee, these final five names will be placed up for one final fan vote. The final vote is tentatively scheduled to start on Monday, May 2, 2016 and run for two weeks.
OCTOBER: THE UNVEILING
In early October of 2016, Evans Street Baseball will unveil the winning submission and grant one lucky fan….Two (2) Season Tickets for the 2017 Season, a personalized official home jersey, and the chance to throw out the first pitch.
