PRESS RELEASE – A beautiful day resulted in one of the biggest turnouts in the City of Florence Easter Egg Hunt history. The event’s attendees at UC Health Stadium were all treated to the unveiling of the Florence Freedom’s new mascot, Y’All-Star, who is presented by LifeCenter Organ Donor Network.
Standing at a strong 6-5 and 220 pounds, Y’All- Star still thinks he could make his living on the field, but decided to hang up his oversize batting helmet to support his favorite team.
“Florence and the Freedom have always been a huge part of my life,” Y’All Star said pointing at his head, which shares a striking resemblance with the famous Florence Water Tower. “I’m just excited to meet the fans, host the Y’All Star Game, and cheer on the Freedom during this landmark season and beyond.”
Y’All-Star’s birthday and birth year coincides with the Freedom also hosting the 2016 Frontier League Y’All-Star Game on July 13. Visit FlorenceFreedom.com to find out more information on the Y’All-Star festivities, which will run from July 11-13.
Y’All Star’s debut game as the Freedom’s mascot will come on opening day, May 13, when the Freedom host the Windy City Thunderbolts and Cincinnati legend Davey Concepcion makes an appearance. Tickets for all Freedom home games can be found here.
