PRESS RELEASE – The SeaWolves are pleased to announce the addition of Tom Fuhrman to the front office staff as Account Executive.
Fuhrman joins the SeaWolves after spending the last 15 years in the non-profit sector. He founded the Lake Erie Region Conservancy (LERC) in 2001 and served as President and Executive Director beginning in 2003. Over that time, LERC, along with other agencies and organizations, were able to protect nearly 1,600 acres of open space in Erie County and raised over $16 million in the process. Fuhrman oversaw the successful acquisition of 640 acres of undeveloped lakefront property which has become Erie Bluffs State Park. He was honored as the 2004 Environmentalist of the Year by the Presque Isle Audubon Society.
Fuhrman, an Erie native, graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1967 and from Gannon University in 1974. In addition to his experience with the Lake Erie Region Conservancy, his professional background includes managing concessions at the San Diego Sports Arena and serving as the Mayor of Lake City, Pennsylvania.
“Tom Fuhrman has deep community roots and a wealth of professional experiences. We are delighted to welcome him to the team,” SeaWolves President Greg Coleman said.
