Express Announce 24 Theme Nights for 2016

Round Rock Express New PrimaryPRESS RELEASE – Dell Diamond will host a wide range of characters this season as the Round Rock Express present two dozen different theme nights, highlighted by Bark in the Park, Star Wars Night, and What Could Have Been: Round Rock FireAnts. The specialty themed games will begin just after Opening Day festivities on April 15.

We’ll prepare for the dog days of summer with two Bark in the Park events, first against the Iowa Cubs on Monday, April 18, then against the Nashville Sounds on Sunday, May 1. The force will be strong with the E-Train on April 29 as we host Star Wars Night against Nashville.

Fans can travel through time at Dell Diamond with four different games dedicated to celebrating years past. On May 13, Dell Diamond will head back to the disco era for 70s Night. There are two totally tubular 80s Nights this season, May 7 against New Orleans and August 20 against Colorado Springs. Put your away message on and turn your beeper off June 4, it’s 90s Night against Oklahoma City.

Fans in need of a set of wheels will enjoy Win a Used Car Night on June 25 as the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships gives away some of their used rides while the Express take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

We’ll celebrate Independence Day with our annual Red, White and Blue Weekend, presented by eBay, against Iowa on July 1-3. Each game over the three-day span will feature a postgame fireworks show. Fans will be treated to a pregame flyover while the E-Train debut special blue uniforms during the July 3 contest.

We’ll enter a parallel universe on July 21 as the Round Rock FireAnts will take the field against Fresno in a Pacific Coast League Championship Series rematch. On that night, we explore what could have been, taking a look at one of the other popular name submissions from when the team was founded in 2000.

Former Express and Houston Astros great Roy Oswalt will be joined by his former teammates during the annual Alumni Weekend festivities on July 29-30. Alumni Night will take place on Friday against Omaha before Oswalt will be inducted into the Express Hall of Fame on Saturday against Memphis.

Special themed games will also celebrate Mother’s Day (May 8 vs New Orleans), Military Appreciation Day (May 30 vs Reno), Christmas in July (July 15 vs New Orleans) andAUGtoberfest (August 1 vs Iowa).

Other specialty dates include Superhero Night (June 5 vs New Orleans), Princess Night (June 13 vs New Orleans), Cancer Awareness Night (June 16 vs New Orleans), Latino Heritage Night(August 10 vs Nashville) and Fan Appreciation Night (September 4 vs Memphis).
