PRESS RELEASE – A trio of unique bobblehead giveaways, a post-game Human Cannonball performance and brand-new weekly specials that include Monday Dollar Dog Nights and an extended “Happy Hour” from 5-7 p.m. before every Thursday home game highlight the IronPigs’ 2016 preliminary promotion schedule. Single-game tickets for the 2016 season presented by Capital BlueCross will go on sale beginning on Saturday, Mar. 5, at 9 a.m. during the club’s annual National Pig Day celebration at Coca-Cola Park.
The IronPigs ninth home opener in club history is pegged for Thursday, April 14 at 7:05 p.m. against the Pawtucket Red Sox and the first 3,000 fans 18 and older in attendance will receive an Opening Night Fleece Blanket giveaway courtesy of Service Electric Cable TV & Communications. To allow fans to celebrate in the Opening Day festivities, all gates will open early at 5 p.m.
The Friday Night Fireworks series commences on Friday, April 15 and continues during each and every IronPigs Friday home game during the 2016 season at Coca-Cola Park and includes a special 3-D Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday, July 3, to celebrate our nation’s Independence. In addition to the Friday Night Fireworks series, all Saturday home games (beginning in May) also feature post-game fireworks. The 22 fireworks shows slated for the 2016 season are the most in franchise history and surpass last year’s total of 16.
The remainder of the season’s first homestand is loaded with giveaways, including Knit Caps (April 16), Kickballs (April 17) and an IronPigs Vintage Bobblehead (April 19) featuring a classic 1950’s design.
The second bobblehead giveaway of the season on Tuesday, May 3 is potentially the season’s most anticipated giveaway as it features the legendary boxer Larry Holmes. Holmes was born, raised and still resides in Easton and is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight fighters of all-time. He was the WBC Heavyweight Champion from 1978-83 and the IBF Champion from 1983-85 and made 20 successful title defenses during his career. He is one just five men who defeated Muhammed Ali and also won his first 48 professional bouts, just one shy of Rocky Marciano’s career record of 49-0.
The final bobblehead giveaway of the season featuring Aaron Nola will take place on Tuesday, May 31, and includes Nola in a decorative Mardi Gras jester cap to pay tribute to his Louisianan upbringings. A former first round pick in 2014, Nola made his Major League debut last season after a successful stint with the IronPigs and tied for the Phillies’ team lead in victories (6).
Fans won’t want to miss the Human Cannonball performance following the game on Monday, June 27 featuring David “The Bullet” Smith. He’s performed over 5,000 cannon shots around the word and is the highest flying Human Cannonball in the world today. The world famous Phillie Phanatic will also entertain with a pair of timely appearances set for June 10 on “Salute to Philadelphia” Night and Sept. 5 on “Fan Appreciation Day” at Coca-Cola Park.
Many fun and unique theme nights are planned for the 2016 season, including Star Wars Night: Revenge of the Sixth on May 6. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is the third episode of the iconic Star Wars film series.

A Spatula giveaway for the return of “Bacon & Eggs” Night on Thursday, May 19 as the IronPigs take on the Toledo Mud Hens. The IronPigs will don their bacon uniforms while the Mud Hens will wear egg-themed jerseysfor this special event.

The IronPigs will celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics with a week-long “Team USA” giveaway series that includes Fleece Blankets (Aug. 15), Pint Glasses (Aug. 17) and Caps (Aug. 22).
A record-breaking six “Bark in the Park” games are in the slate for 2016 with Dog Days set for April 17, May 16, June 14, July 6, Aug. 1 and Aug. 30. The Lehigh Valley Food Truck Festival, which is an on-field event featuring more than 15 local food trucks, makes its debut on Saturday, May 14 with an afternoon and evening session.
