At the first public meeting to discuss how the city of Richmond (VA) should develop the 60 acres of land it owns on the Boulevard, every resident who spoke agreed that a stadium for the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A, Eastern League) should remain on the property. A hired consulting firm presenting at the meeting concluded that the “highest and best economic use” for the property doesn’t include a stadium, but they only studied it in terms of economics.
