Owlz Announce New Voice

Orem Owlz LogoPRESS RELEASE – The Orem Owlz are pleased to announce Dominic Cotroneo as the new “Voice of the Owlz”.

Dominic Cotroneo currently studies communications at Arizona State University where he has expanded his play-by-play portfolio. While a student, Cotroneo has been one of the voices of ASU baseball the past two seasons. He is the lead broadcaster for Pac-12 Digital web streams of Sun Devil baseball and on the campus radio station, The Blaze 1330 AM. He has also directed coverage of the baseball team for student-run site Cronkitesports.com including game recaps, features, and photography.

Orem Owlz ControneoCotroneo has spent his last two summers on the shores of Cape Cod as a broadcaster of the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Regarded as the nation’s top amateur baseball league, Cotroneo called 91 during his time in Chatham. He also volunteered as an Anglers Clinic coach, teaching local youth the basics of the game of baseball.

Beyond baseball, Cotroneo also has served as the lead broadcaster for Sun Devil hockey the past two seasons, including their inaugural NCAA season on Pac-12 Digital. Also, Cotroneo broadcasts ASU football games on campus radio including the 2015 Advocare Texas Kickoff against Texas A&M, the 2014 Hyundai Sun Bowl against Duke University, and the 2014 Territorial Cup-the rivalry game with the University of Arizona. He has served as the assistant sports director for the student station the past two years.

A Texan by birth and now a native Arizonan, “Dom” follows his father Vince Cotroneo‘s footsteps in broadcasting. Vince has served as the Oakland Athletics’ no.2 broadcaster the past ten seasons with over 20 years of major league experience. He is an avid golfer with and will be traveling to the state of Utah for the first time.
