PRESS RELEASE – The Lowell Spinners, the Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are excited to announce that the two organizations have extended their Player Development Contract (PDC) through 2018. The extension will keep the Spinners in the city of Lowell and a member of the New York-Penn League for at least three more seasons.
“This is a wonderful first announcement for our 20th anniversary season in Lowell.” said Spinners President/General Manager Tim Bawmann. “The faith Dave Dombrowski and his staff are showing in our management team during this transitional phase is a testament to the solid partnership we have had with the Red Sox under Drew‘s ownership.”
Lowell is one of Boston’s six minor league affiliates, joining Triple-A Pawtucket (International League), Double-A Portland (Eastern League), High-A Salem (Carolina League), Single-A Greenville (South Atlantic League) and Rookie Gulf Coast Red Sox (Gulf Coast League).
