    The description of Venezuelan baseball as “raucous, boozy, and affordable” reminds me of Edward Achorn’s book, “The Summer of Beer and Whiskey,” which chronicles a season the author feels was pivotal for the ascendance of Major League Baseball here in America. Does anyone know if there are any fuller “social histories” of Venezuelan baseball available?
