Blue Wahoos Ballpark Gets a Name, Left-Field Wall and Foul Pole to be Moved

Pensacola Blue Wahoos LogoThe Community Maritime Park Associates in Pensacola (FL) gave unanimous approval Wednesday to “Blue Wahoos Stadium” as the name for the bayfront stadium.  The Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Double-A, Southern League) will pay $112,00 a year for the naming rights, which is half of the amount the team and city would split if another party purchased the right.

The playing surface will be titled Admiral Jack Fetterman Field, or “Fetterman Field” for the shortened version.  The board also voted to approve funding for a needed to replace and move back the left-field wall and foul pole.  Moving the wall and pole expands the field to conform to NCAA standards, which will allow the University of West Florida football team to play there.  Read more here.
