D-Jays to Welcome College Football Season

Dunedin Blue JaysPRESS RELEASE – The Dunedin Blue Jays will welcome the beginning of the college football season with College Football Kickoff Night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on Monday, August 31st when the D-Jays host the Tampa Yankees. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30PM.

Dunedin Blue Jays College Football KickoffEvery autumn becomes a thrill during the collegiate football season and that holds particularly true in the state of Florida.

As part of a great evening of baseball and football fun, fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to NCAA regular season and postseason bowl games. Those games include the Outback Bowl, the Boca Raton Bowl, the St. Petersburg Bowl and a UCF and FIU regular season game. Fans may purchase raffle tickets for one dollar ($1) each for their chance win.

A winner will be selected from each raffle during the course of the game with the exception of the Outback Bowl raffle. There will be a punt, pass and kick competition following the ballgame for the chance to win tickets to the Outback Bowl. The Dunedin Blue Jays staff will select four (4) raffle tickets after the game and the four fans chosen will compete on the field. The winner of punt, pass and kick will take the home tickets.

All proceeds from raffles tickets sold for NCAA football games and 50/50 raffle will benefit the Foundation for Youth Development Tampa Bay Pop Warner Scholarship Program.

The USF Street Team will be on hand and have Rocky the Bull, the school’s mascot, with them. Fans are encouraged to wear the football jersey of their favorite collegiate team and join in the singing of their favorite ‘fight song.’
