PRESS RELEASE – The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, are proud to announce the first four ‘Roasters’ for ‘The Roast of Pete Rose‘ being held on Thursday, September 3 at UC Health Stadium.
Chris Welsh of the Cincinnati Reds broadcast team, Mo Egger of ESPN 1530 and 700 WLW, Andy Furman of Fox Sports Radio and former world series champion pitcher Jon Warden will sit on the dais when Pete Rose comes to town to be roasted.
“These four should add a lot of character and spice to the roast,” Freedom General Manager Josh Anderson said. “It’s going to be a really fun event and there might another name or two that gets added to this list.”
‘The Roast’ will take place prior to the Freedom playing the Windy City ThunderBolts on September 3.
“If you’re a Cincinnati baseball fan, this is the kind of event you don’t want to miss,” Anderson said. “Pete was here last year and couldn’t have been better with our fans. We knew we needed to bring him back.”
In addition to the roast, Rose will coach 1st and 3rd base, be the ceremonial lead-off man for the Freedom in the bottom of the 1st inning, and be available for fans to purchase photos and autographs with the Hit King on the concourse later in the game.
