PRESS RELEASE – The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is proud to announce the nickname for the franchise in Victor, New York. The team will be known as the RailRiders and will compete in the West Division of the PGCBL.
“Victor has had a long standing tradition with the railroad, dating back to the 1840’s. Tracks used to run right by the Pinnacle Athletic complex,” said owner Jim Ludwig.
The RailRiders will initially play at the Victor Central School District High School prior to the completion of the Pinnacle Athletic Campus in 2016. The team is owned by Pinnacle Athletic Campus, LLC.
The Victor franchise is joined by the Saugerties Stallions as new teams to the PGCBL in the 2015 season. The Stallions will compete in the East Division.
The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game, the largest independent scouting service in the country. This year more than 1,400 professional players will have worn the uniform or participated in a Perfect Game event.
