PRESS RELEASE – The Mississippi Braves are proud to unveil the 2015 promotional calendar. In addition to the previously announced eight bobblehead giveaways and weekly promotions every night of the week, the M-Braves boast a packed promotional lineup for the upcoming season at Trustmark Park.
Opening night is set for Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 PM. As in the past, the M-Braves will give away magnetic schedules compliments of the Mississippi Army National Guard. It’s also Pearl Community Night and Thirsty Thursday followed by the annual opening night fireworks.
This season, the M-Braves have several Shirts off our Backs Silent Auctions benefiting various charities. The Braves will wear baby blues April 10 (MORA), Star Wars jerseys May 2, patriotic jerseys July 4 (ALS) and pink jerseys August 6 (Central MS Steel Magnolias). The players will autograph the jerseys after the game and hand them over to the silent auction winners.
Former Atlanta Brave Dale Murphy will make a special appearance at the park Friday, May 29. The M-Braves will hold a Crawfish Boil May 15. Bark in the Park is set for May 31. Various theme nights include Outdoorsman Night (June 12), Beach Night (June 27), 80s Night with a performance by Aquanet (July 18) and New Orleans Saints Night (August 20).
Fan favorite mascot and entertainment acts will join the M-Braves again. Those acts include Birdzerk (April 10),Bucket Ruckus (April 11), Marvel Characters Captain America, Thor and Iron Man (April 24), Rally (May 30),The SweetRight Brothers (June 13), The Inflatamaniacs (June 27), The Fur Circus (July 18), Breakin’ BBoy McCoy (July 25), Reggy (August 22) and Zooperstars (August 29).
The M-Braves are giving away baseball caps April 10, April 21 and May 1. The M-Braves full wall calendargiveaway is April 10-11. In conjunction with Total Sci-Fi Night, the Braves are giving away mini light sabers May 2. Other giveaways include hot dogs (April 20 & June 1), pizza (May 11 & June 15), water bottles (May 30),soccer balls (June 13), replica jerseys (June 27), Mississippi Army National Guard dog tags (July 25) and 2015 M-Braves baseball card sets (August 21).
As previously announced, the M-Braves have the following bobblehead giveaways during the 2015 season:Christian Bethancourt (May 29); 2014 Hall of Fame Tri-Bobblehead featuring Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux (June 4); Mycal Jones (June 5); 2015 Hall of Famer John Smoltz (June 11); Barrett Kleinknecht(June 12); Aaron Holbert (June 26); Julio Teheran (July 17) and Braeden Schlehuber (July 24).
In addition to the performance by Aquanet on July 18, the M-Braves also have several other bands slated to play throughout the season. Those bands include AJC and The Envelope Pushers (April 11), Celebration Singers(April 23), The Clarksdale Blues Revue (May 2), The StoneCoats (May 8), Stogdaddy and the Good Time Band(May 29), Silas Reed N ‘Da Books (June 13) and Willie Nelson Tribute Band (August 28).
Pink the Park is set for April 30 and August 6. ALS Awareness Nights are scheduled for May 29, July 4 and August 22. Salvation Army Christmas in July is Saturday, July 25. On June 28, kids may play catch on the field from 3:30-4:30 PM as part of the post-Father’s Day Celebration. Scout Campout Night is slated for July 18.
Various community days and nights are scheduled throughout the season including Florence (April 12), Canton(May 3), Brandon (May 15), Flowood (May 29), Meridian (May 31), Clinton (June 14), Madison (June 28),Jackson (July 5), Ridgeland (July 19), Hattiesburg (July 26), Richland (August 2) and Vicksburg (August 30).

The Mississippi Braves baseball team is the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Since making the move from Greenville, SC, in 2005, over 90 M-Braves have gone on to play in the big leagues. The M-Braves have made postseason play three times and went on to win the Southern League Championship in 2008. The M-Braves open the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9 against the Tennessee Smokies.
