Charlotte Knights Reveal 2015 Promo Schedule

Charlotte Knights New Primary LogoPRESS RELEASE – After nearly two weeks of exclusive sneak peeks at the Charlotte Knights 2015 promotional schedule via the team’s official Instagram page, the Charlotte Knights are pleased to release their full schedule to fans today. Highlighted by a Joel Skinner Bobblehead, tributes to iconic movies Caddyshack, Star Wars, and Back to the Future, a Superhero Night with pro wrestler “Hurricane” Helms, and appearances by baseball stars Dale Murphy and Bobby Richardson, the Knights 2015 promotional schedule has something for fans of all ages.

Charlotte Knights 2015 Promo ScheduleThe Charlotte Knights kick off their second season at BB&T Ballpark on Thursday, April 9 with the first of 13 Thirsty Thursdays ™ presented by Hickory Tavern. At all Thursday home games again this season, fans 21 and over can enjoy $3 small drafts until the end of the 7th inning, courtesy of Hickory Tavern. The month of April features two appearances by the Hickory Tavern KnightinGals– who will perform for fans at all 10 Saturday home games again this season. The first 3,000 fans will receive a KnightinGals poster on Saturday, April 18, courtesy of Hickory Tavern.

Also in April, the Knights will treat fans to the first of three $1 hot dog nights this season, courtesy of Sahlen’s, on Monday, April 13. A night later (Tuesday, April 14), the first 3,000 fans will receive aBB&T Ballpark Canvas Print, courtesy of BB&T. On Sunday, April 19, BB&T Ballpark will welcome fans and dogs of all ages for the first of two Bark in the Ballpark games. The first 1,000 dogs will also receive a Dog Collar as the Knights play host to the Gwinnett Braves on April 19.

Sundays are Sunbelt Family Sundays and kids can “Run the Bases” after all non-fireworks Sunday home games. Seven of the club’s Sunday games start at 2:05 p.m., while the Knights will play three 5:05 p.m. Sunday games. All 10 Sunday games this season are once again presented by Sunbelt Rentals.

The final homestand in April gets underway on Tuesday, April 27th with Twitter Tuesdays, presented by BB&T. At every Tuesday home game in 2015, Knights fans in attendance at BB&T Ballpark will have a chance to win prizes on Twitter by following @KnightsBaseball. On Wednesday, April 28, fans of the movie Star Wars will want to make their way to the ballpark to celebrate the iconic movie with many familiar characters. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Star Wars Knight Glow-in-the-Dark Light Saber Cap, courtesy of Carolinas HealthCare System. The Knights will then host Education Day at the ballpark presented by Duke Energy on Wednesday, April 29. First pitch of the April 29th tilt starts at 11:05 a.m. The thrilling first month of the season wraps up with Superhero Night on Thursday, April 30th. Pro wrestler and North Carolina native “Hurricane” Helms will meet fans and sign autographs.

The month of May will feature the 10th Annual Pink Knights game on Saturday, May 16, courtesy of Charlotte Radiology and Belk. The first 2,500 ladies will receive a Pink Baseball and the Knights will wear Pink Jerseys, which will be auctioned off to fans to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Kid-friendly appearances by the World Famous ZOOperstars! (Wednesday, May 27) and Brobee of Yo Gabba Gabba (Sunday, May 31) highlight the second month of the 2015 campaign.

June is highlighted by a 35th Anniversary Tribute to the movie Caddyshack on Wednesday, June 17. The Knights will welcome one of the stars from the classic movie – Michael O’Keefe – who played Danny Noonan. Along with O’Keefe, who will meet fans and sign autographs, the night will feature many golf and Caddyshack related in-game contests. The final home game in June is set forFather’s Day on Sunday, June 21. The first 2,500 men will receive Grill Tongs and all dads are encouraged to come out to the ballpark for a special pre-game play catch on the field.

Fireworks headline the month of July as BB&T Ballpark will be the site for back-to-back fireworks shows on July 3rd and July 4th. Fireworks, which are presented by BB&T, News Talk 1110 WBT, and 107.9 The Link, cap-off the team’s July 3rd game against the Gwinnett Braves. A night later, the 39th Annual WBT SkyShow will take place as Team USA hosts Cuba at BB&T Ballpark while the Knights are on the road in Lawrenceville, GA.

Later in the month, the Knights will turn back the clock to the 1980’s with a special 30th Anniversary Tribute to the 1985 film Back to the Future. Fans will have a chance to have their photos taken with the DeLorean Time Machine from the iconic movie, which starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. On Sunday, July 19, the Knights will welcome 1960 World Series MVP Bobby Richardson to BB&T Ballpark as part of the team’s Faith and Family Night. Richardson, a native of South Carolina, will sign autographs for fans. Richardson also served as head baseball coach of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks from 1970-1976.

As the summer continues to heat up, the Knights kick off an exciting month of August with a Tribute to Knights manager Joel Skinner – the winningest manager in franchise history. The first 3,000 fans through the gates on Tuesday, August 4 will receive a Joel Skinner bobblehead. Back by popular demand, Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy will meet fans and sign autographs on Tuesday, August 11 when the Knights host the Gwinnett Braves. The two-time National League MVP last met Knights fans during the 2012 season at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill. The dog days of summer continue as August concludes and as the Knights welcome canines to the ballpark on Wednesday, August 26 forBark in the Ballpark on National Dog Day.

The regular season wraps up with three games in September against the Durham Bulls from September 2-4. The Knights and Bulls will play a 12:05 p.m. game on Thursday, September 3 before concluding the season on Friday, September 4 with a 7:05 p.m. game.

Single-game tickets for all 72 regular season Knights home games, the Chicago White Sox exhibition game on April 3rd, and the Charlotte 49ers game on March 31st, will go on sale to the general public beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21 at BB&T Ballpark. Tickets will then go on sale by phone (704-274-8282) and online (CharlotteKnights.com) starting at noon.
