Geivett Named New Voice of Osprey

Missoula Osprey Secondary LogoPRESS RELEASE – The Missoula Osprey announced today the addition of Tyler Geivett as the new Voice of the Osprey. Geivett will also fill the role of media relations coordinator upon his arrival to Missoula in early June.

Geivett is in his eighth year working in the Loyola Marymount University Athletics department, including his second as Assistant Athletics Director, External Communications.

Missoula Osprey GeivettHe currently travels with the LMU baseball program and serves as the radio broadcaster for all road games. Having called 200-plus LMU baseball games so far in his career, he is preparing to begin his eighth season on the air in February of this year.

Geivett will call every Osprey game, both home and away this season on the O’s radio nest, ESPN Montana 102.9 FM and online at MissoulaOsprey.com. He will also serve as an in-season media contact, contribute to the official Osprey website, and write content for the Osprey blog, Bird Droppings.

“Tyler has an outstanding track record and we welcome him to the Osprey family,” Jeff Griffin, Osprey Vice President/General Manager, said. “He is a quality individual, who is driven to deliver an excellent broadcast. I look forward to him adding his own flare to Osprey baseball this summer.”

Under his current title, Geivett serves as the primary media relations contact for the LMU baseball, volleyball, swimming, rowing, and tennis programs.

Prior to beginning his tenure at LMU, Geivett earned a degree in psychology with a minor in sport management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Following his graduation, he worked the 2007 Major League Baseball season in the public relations department for the Oakland Athletics.

“I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to pursue my passion of broadcasting at the professional level,” Geivett said. “Everyone in the Osprey organization has been extremely welcoming, and I cannot wait to start calling Osprey baseball games and living in the beautiful city of Missoula.”

Geivett will make his professional baseball radio debut when the O’s open the season on the road against the Helena Brewers June 18. The Osprey home opener is set for June 24 against Helena.
