PRESS RELEASE – The Klamath Falls Gems recently extended their Lease for the use of Kiger Stadium for an additional five years. The original lease, signed in 2011, was set to expire at the end of the 2015 season.
“The extension should remove any doubts as to the Gems’ commitment to the community,” said Gems’ General Manager and co-owner Lisa Walker. “We’ve enjoyed our time in Klamath Falls. The people have been very welcoming and have embraced the team and our organization. Our Host Families have been remarkable and have provided a fantastic opportunity for our players to become a part of the community. We wanted to send a clear message to our fans, business partners and community members that we are here to stay. We also feel this commitment will help the Kiger Association with their long-term planning and fundraising efforts with the knowledge that their primary tenant will be here for many years to come,” concluded Walker. The Lease now runs through the 2020 season.
Ticket packages for the 2015 season are already on sale. In addition, there are marketing opportunities for businesses to become involved with the Gems.
