BlueClaws to Become ‘Pine Barons’ on June 22

PRESS RELEASE – The BlueClaws played their first game in 2001 and unveiled their team name in 2000. At that time, hundreds of names had been sent in as nominations before the name “BlueClaws” was selected, but what might the name have been if BlueClaws was not selected?

On Sunday, June 22nd, the BlueClaws will assume the identity of a different name from their options at the time: The Lakewood Pine Barons.

At the game, the team will wear special jerseys and hats that have been created just for this one day. These jerseys will be auctioned off at the game via a silent auction on the concourse.

There is a limited amount of Pine Barons merchandise available in the Claws Cove at FirstEnergy Park and it will be available through the game on June 22nd, while supplies last.

The June 22nd game starts at 1:05 pm with the gates opening at 12 pm. Since it’s a Sunday, Kids Eat Free thanks to ShopRite and members of the BlueClaws (Pine Barons) Kids Club presented by Jenkinson’s and NJ Best will get in for free (more on Kids Club).
