Southern Tide 500 Club Highlights 2014 Fan-Experience Enhancements

Greenville Drive LogoPRESS RELEASE – With Opening Day in downtown Greenville three days away, the Greenville Drive are excited to announce what’s new at Fluor Field at the West End this season. Drive Ticket Plan holders got a sneak peek of what’s in store on Wednesday night, as they met the team, learned about the 2014 promo schedule and were part of a special unveiling of the all-new Southern Tide 500 Club.

Other exciting features at Fluor Field in 2014 include all new hospitality options, including an enhanced suite experience with new furniture and an updated menu, a deepened partnership with the City of Greenville via its Youth Baseball Program and the arrival of two brand new trolleys for the season, and much more.

“Wednesday night allowed us to unveil some of the newest features of Fluor Field for the 2014 season, and we are extremely encouraged by the early reactions of our season ticket holders,” commented Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “Our ninth season at Fluor Field is titled “˜Let Yourself Go’, as for 70 nights a year, fans will be able to forget about the stresses of work, school and daily life, come to a Drive game and let themselves go while enjoying the game and the ballpark atmosphere.”

Drive Co-Owner and Team President Craig Brown added, “Excitement is high as the Drive’s Opening Day inches closer, and we are particularly excited about the new hospitality enhancements and expanded food and beverage options that will add to the overall ballpark experience for our fans. We were honored to be named by Stadium Journey this offseason as one of the Top 100 Stadium Journey Experiences in North America, and we believe our latest offerings will take our already outstanding fan experience to a new level.”

The Southern Tide 500 Club has been transformed into a nautical, seaside themed area that is aligned with the Southern Tide brand, who are now the official apparel provider of the Drive. The transformation includes the establishment of the Skipjack Lounge, six large flat screen TV’s, and new couches and seaside chairs throughout. The updated layout and nautical theme will enhance the experience of the Southern Tide 500 Club and will ensure that Fluor Field remains the place to be for all sorts of fun activities throughout the Drive season, including live music, karaoke and more.

“As part of the relaunch of the Southern Tide 500 Club for the upcoming season, Drive fans will see new food and beverage items on the menu, including a variety of seafood options such as crab cakes, fried shrimp and a “˜catch of the day’, along with craft beers as part of our Craft Beer Saturdays,” said Matt Weeks, the Drive’s Director of Food and Beverage. “The atmosphere is already second to none, but we’re excited about these added food and beverage options, which will ensure that the Southern Tide 500 Club is the perfect place for memorable events such as $1 Drink Nights on Thursdays.”

Fans who experience Drive baseball from the suite level will notice some dramatic changes as well. The additions to the suite level include brand new furniture, flooring, lighting and an updated suite menu with all your ballpark favorites and more! These updates will provide fans with a comfortable and intimate setting in the suites where they can enjoy Drive baseball and interact with family, friends and co-workers.

The Drive’s partnership with the City of Greenville will grow even stronger in 2014 with the support of the city’s Youth Baseball Program, which provides inner city children with an opportunity to play baseball in a structured program at their community park. Also, the Drive facilitated the purchase of new trolleys by working closely with Greenville Transit and the City of Greenville. The new trolleys are planned for a June arrival.

In addition to being the home for Drive baseball, Fluor Field also hosts family friendly entertainment and exciting community events, and the Drive have lined up an outstanding promotional schedule for the 2014 season that promises to be the best yet!

“Our 2014 promotional schedule will hit on something for fans of all ages,” said Jarinko. “We’re excited about the return of some of our biggest annual events, including four Reading All Stars games devoted to the celebration of reading accomplishments, the 4th Annual Drive Business Downtown on May 13th, Green Day on August 5th, and more. Also, families will be entertained all season long by national acts such as Reggy, Breakin’ B-Boy McCoy, The Zooperstars and The Fur Circus.”

The Greenville Drive home opener at Fluor Field is Thursday, April 10th at 7:05 against the Kannapolis Intimidators.
