PRESS RELEASE – The Sugar Land Skeeters announced today the club’s promotional schedule and game times for the upcoming 2014 season at Constellation Field. This season, the Skeeters’ promotional schedule promises a blend of baseball traditions, such as Thirsty Thursdays and jersey auctions, along with fun-filled, new theme nights, giveaways and more.
Opening Weekend begins Thursday, April 24, at 7:05 p.m. as Sugar Land hosts the division rival Lancaster Barnstormers on Opening Night. Magnet schedules, sponsored by ABC Home & Commercial Services, will be given to the first 1,500 fans while Friday introduces the first Fireworks Friday of the year. On Saturday, April 26, the club will give away Skeeters hats, courtesy of MemberSource Credit Union, and the Skeeters join forces with Hope for Three on Sunday for Strike Out Autism, the first of five scheduled jersey auctions taking place in 2014.
What’s Coming in 2014
This season, the Skeeters will showcase several new weekly promotions, such as #Winning Wednesdays and Thirsty Thursdays. On #Winning Wednesdays, fans in attendances are guaranteed a win by scoring prizes, giveaways or a FREE ticket to a later game should the Skeeters lose that night. For those looking to take Thursday nights up a notch, Thirsty Thursdays’ discounted beverages are the perfect solution for affordable entertainment heading into the weekend.
The club also prepares to bring unique, engaging theme nights to Sugar Land in 2014, with new theme nights such as Zombie Night (May 22), Princess and Pirates Night (June 29), College Night (July 31) and Great Outdoors Night (August 21).
In combination with new themes, the Skeeters are happy to bring back favorites including the Mother’s Day Diamond Dig (May 11), sponsored by Elegant Jewelers, a Father’s Day Remote Dig (June 15) courtesy of Best Buy and an Independence Day Celebration on July 3.
Atlantic League All-Star Game
The Atlantic League All-Star Game and festivities arrive in Sugar Land on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16 at Constellation Field. On Tuesday, Roger Clemens will host the Rocket Man Celebrity Slam softball game, with a postgame concert to follow. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Roger Clemens Foundation.
On Wednesday, July 16, Sugar Land takes on the rest of the Atlantic League in the 2014 Atlantic League “Y’All-Star” Game. This year’s event marks the first time in history for Constellation Field to host an All-Star Game, and the Skeeters are ready to show the Atlantic League a Texas-style good time.
