PRESS RELEASE – The Bellingham Bells have recently hired Dave Grant to be the voice of the Bells for the 2014 season. Grant will provide play-by-play commentary for all 56 games during the summer.
“We couldn’t be more excited about having Dave join our team for the 2014 season,” said Bells general manager Nick Caples. “He is a terrific talent on the air that I know our fans will really enjoy listening to throughout the summer.“
A 2010 graduate of Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., Grant comes to the Bells with an impressive resume in the communications industry. He began his career in 2008 working for KSBR, the Saddleback radio station. Currently, Grant resides in San Luis Obispo, Calif and covers athletics for California Polytechnic State University. Grant is in his second year of covering men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, softball and select men’s basketball and baseball games for the Mustangs.
“I am very excited to be joining such a talented front office, team and coaching staff,” Grant said. “I feel this unique experience will be an exciting next step in my broadcasting career and, on the same token, provide the Bellingham Bells and their fans with the level of quality and respect that they have come to expect from their broadcaster.”
“His high level of professionalism was very impressive to us, as was his passion for the game,” Caples added. “Our coaches, players, and community members will really enjoy working alongside Dave this summer.”
Grant also has experience at the state championship level, calling play-by-play in both 2010 and 2011 for the CCCAA baseball state championships in Bakersfield, Calif. He also has called play-by-play for high school basketball games broadcast on ESPN Radio 1280AM in San Luis Obispo, CA. and publishes a website that he updates weekly during both the broadcast and the offseason.
