PRESS RELEASE – The HarbourCats are excited to announce that bucket-style seats with backs will be installed by the City of Victoria in six sections of Royal Athletic Park for the 2014 West Coast League season, making our fans’ experience entirely more comfortable. The new seats will replace existing bench-style seating. The upgrade will improve more than 1,300 seats of the RAP baseball configuration.
The improvements will give each spectator more room with comfortable back support and it allows the HarbourCats to simplify the pricing structure to two options. Even with these marked improvements, season ticket pricing will remain the same as 2013 (detailed chart, below).
This is all about the comfort of our fans, who fell in love with HarbourCats baseball in 2013, and listening to ways we can give them a better fan experience,” said General Manager Jim Swanson, who is now spearheading plans for the 2014 WCL season – securing sponsors, and planning logistics. “Our fans will be able to choose exactly where they want to sit to enjoy HarbourCats home games. If fans want to sit in the sun in a premium seat, they can do that, or they can elect to be under cover in the Grandstand in a premium location, which already has seat-backs.”
All seats along the diamond, ringing the field from first base to third base, will have seat-backs (Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12). Previously, only Section 10 had seat-backs. Aluminum bleachers in the upper rows and seats situated beyond first base (Sections 6, 7) will remain as General Admission, rush seating.
