PRESS RELEASE – The Stockton Ports community fund, the Anchor Fund, is the first of its kind in the 70-year history of the organization. The Fund was established in 2007 and will help fund many community projects, with a focus on youth centers and youth sports.
The charitable fund reflects and reaffirms the Ports’ commitment to strengthen the community using baseball and entertainment as a backdrop. It will also enable local businesses to make tax-deductible donations in their efforts to support youth projects in the area.
Monies raised by the Anchor Fund will benefit primarily children-based charitable endeavors in San Joaquin County, although the fund will not be limited to this. Most area charitable organizations will be considered as potential beneficiaries of the fund.
During the 2013 season, the Stockton Ports donated $39,387 and nearly $198,000 of in-kind donations, including just under 25,000 total tickets.
To see how you or your organization can get involved or to make a tax-deductible contribution to the Anchor Fund, contact Community Relations Manager Kellie Ryan at (209)644-1953 or kryan@stocktonports.com.
