St. Paul City Council Member Dave Thune and state historic preservation officials said the short, squat design and steely walls in preliminary drawings of the 7,000-seat regional ballpark feel too suburban, and they’re not in keeping with the big brick aesthetic of the neighboring Lowertown historic district.
