PRESS RELEASE – The St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club has reached a lease agreement with the City of St. Cloud to continue playing its games at Joe Faber Field through the 2017 season. “A lot of excitement has been created around Rox baseball the last two seasons and to be able to call Joe Faber Field Home of the Rox through the 2017 season helps keep the momentum going for many years to come,” said Rox Vice President Scott Schreiner. The Rox have lead the Northwoods League North Division in overall attendance their first two years, averaging 54,801 fans per season.
The Rox played 35 home games each of their first two seasons at Joe Faber Field. The 2014 Northwoods League schedule is due to be released in November.
The St. Cloud Rox Baseball Club is a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 116 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
