More Than 3,000 Show Up for Dash Movie Night for Charity

Winston-Salem Dash SecondaryPRESS RELEASE – The Winston-Salem Dash and Nature’s Select partnered for a successful Movie Night at BB&T Ballpark last Saturday night. More than 3,000 people enjoyed Epic and plenty of other family-friendly entertainment, and these moviegoers contributed more than $6,000 and 1,000 toys’ worth of donations to Brenner Children’s Hospital.

“We are always involved in the community in one way or the other, but it was truly our honor to participate in such an event,” said Gene Queen, President of Nature’s Select. “We were all just overwhelmed by the generosity the people of our community have given and are extremely grateful for their show of support to Brenner Children’s Hospital.”

Admission to the Movie Night was a donation to Brenner Children’s Hospital. Attendees could either donate money or give supplies for Brenner’s “Child Life Services” and “Arts for Life” programs.

BB&T Ballpark’s gates opened at 6 p.m., which was 90 minutes before the start of Epic. Before the PG-rated film began, fans could spend time with Dash mascot Bolt and on-field emcee JJ along with the Chick-fil-A Cows. Plus, a few families in the crowd played ABC45’s Family Feud, and Zumba-Tonic performed on the field. Moviegoers could take in all of this fun, along with the movie itself, on the field or in the seats.

“Thanks in large part to our partner Nature’s Select, Movie Nights at BB&T Ballpark have grown every year,” Dash team President Geoff Lassiter said. “Our fans have helped to make this yet another event outside of the baseball season that the community can enjoy inside our facility.”

Full- and partial-season ticket plans for the 2014 season go on sale October 15 at 9 a.m., and the Dash’s schedule will be released later this month. For more ticket information, call (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
