El Paso Baseball Investors Won’t Put Selves on Personal Hook

Pacific Coast LeagueMountainStar Sports Group investors have rejected the idea of providing personal guarantees for the additional $12.1 million the group recently agreed to pay toward El Paso’s new Triple-A baseball stadium.  The  City Council last week voted 6-2 in favor of making the request, after the idea was put forth by City Council Rep. Eddie Holguin — a ballpark opponent.  Knowing MountainStar would not agree to the personal guarantee idea and its rejection would not impact the lease and construction contracts already in place, this “ask” was clearly for show or appeasement.  Read more here.
