NECBL Expands to Plymouth, Pilgrims to Take Field in 2013

NECBL LogoFeeling the heat from the summer collegiate Futures Collegiate Baseball League, the New England Collegiate Baseball League is expanding to Plymouth (MA).  The Plymouth Pilgrims (no, not the Eels) will begin play in the summer of 2013 on the lighted Babe Ruth baseball diamond at Forges Field.  It is also being reported that the team will play a minimum of 30 home games between June 1 and August 10, which, if true, would be a huge jump for the circuit that has refused to go beyond 20-22 home dates.  Beyond new teams in Plymouth and Saratoga (NY), the league is targeting another market in Rhode Island for 2013 expansion.  Read more here.
