Voters Shut Down Wilmington Stadium Project

Voters in Wilmington (NC) soundly rejected a referendum Tuesday authorizing the city to spend $37 million on a new baseball stadium for a relocated Single-A franchise that would have been owned and operated by the Atlanta Braves and Mandalay Baseball Properties.  According to Mayor Bill Saffo Wednesday morning, baseball “is done.”   Read about here.
