League City (TX) will pay $1.4 million this year to service the debt on nearly $18 million borrowed to build Big League Dreams Sports Park, a $22.6 million amateur baseball/softball complex consisting of six replica MLB fields opened in 2005. This is the highest payment the city will make, before payments begin to slowly drop each year until the debt is paid off in 2033. The city receives around $250,000 from the facility’s operator each year. The operator covers the estimated $600,000 in annual operations and maintenance costs. Read more here.
