ValleyCats Set New Franchise Attendance Marks

PRESS RELEASE – The ValleyCats 2012 regular season is in the books and the ‘Cats have won a franchise best 51 games, surpassing the 2004 club record of 50 wins. The ValleyCats have also set a new single-season attendance record for the 9th year in-a-row. A total of 159,966 fans came out to “The Joe” besting 2011’s mark of 156,279. Out of the ‘Cats 38 home games, there were 17 sellouts, also a franchise record.

The ‘Cats (51-25) won the Stedler Division title for the 4th time in their 11-year history and are looking to win their 2nd New York-Penn League Championship. The last came back in 2010.

The Semi-Finals of the New York-Penn League playoffs begin this Friday. The ValleyCats play the Pinckney Division winner Auburn Doubledays, while the McNamara Division champion Hudson Valley Renegades play the Brooklyn Cyclones.

The ValleyCats travel to Auburn for Game 1 on Friday, and return to “The Joe” to host Game 2 on Saturday, September 8 at 7pm. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at “The Joe” on Sunday, September 9 at 5pm. Both rounds of the playoffs are a best-of-three series.
