Ribbon-Cutting Celebration Set for New Bisbee Ballpark Sculpture

The Friends of Warren Ballpark have scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Friday, Sept. 7, to celebrate the new baseball scultpure erected outside of Warren Ballpark in Bisbee (AZ).  Built in 1909, some believe Warren Ballpark is the oldest baseball stadium in the country.  Read more here.  Visit the Friends of Warren Ballpark Facebook page here.

  1. Finally, some mention of some history there! I checked out Warren Ballpark back in April and there was almost nothing mentioning its storied past, other than a plaque that dated the grandstand to a WPA era rebuild. While they did note that the park was the oldest in Arizona, tellingly “the oldest baseball stadium in the country” moniker was amiss. It’s pretty safe to say the holder of that title is undisputed: Rickwood Field in Birmingham.
