Tigers to Host 2013 NYPL All-Star Game

PRESS RELEASE – The Connecticut Tigers, in conjunction with the New York-Penn League, are proud to announce that the Tigers will host the 2013 New York-Penn League All-Star Game on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich. There will be plenty of all-star festivities that will be announced over the course of the off-season leading into the 2013 calendar year.

“We’re thrilled and honored to bring the New York-Penn League All-Star Game to Norwich in our fourth season at Dodd,” said Connecticut Tigers Vice President/General Manager C.J. Knudsen. “It will be a fantastic event for fans of baseball in Connecticut!”

The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers saw a 23% increase in attendance in 2011, (the 4th highest in Minor League Baseball), and are in their 3rd season at Dodd Stadium. Tickets are now on sale!     Cool. I’ll be there but I thought the ASG rotated divisions. This division hosted last year’s in Lowell.

    The last time Dodd hosted an All-Star Game, it was in 2007 for the Eastern League. It was called after 2 innings when thick fog completely obscured the outfield. Better luck this time.
