PRESS RELEASE – The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is proud to announce that the Elmira Pioneers have set a new single season PGCBL attendance record with 43,734 fans attending games at historic Dunn Field.
“The Pioneers set new collegiate team records the last two years and the change in ownership has carried them to stratospheric heights.” stated PGCBL President Jeff Kunion. “With almost half a season to go, the Pioneers have already eclipsed last year’s record of 35,453. With an average of attendance of 2,916 per game, the Pioneers are second in the country in summer collegiate baseball attendance.”
“The entire league has seen a significant increase in the number of fans attending our games in 2012. It is a tribute to our owners and their staff that we have four teams averaging more than 1,000 fans per game and the PGCBL is the third most watched league in the country.” stated Kunion
The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game USA the largest independent scouting service in the country. Last year more than 1,325 professional players had either worn the uniform of a PGCBL team or participated in a Perfect Game USA event.
Come see the future stars of professional baseball at the 2012 PGCBL All Star Game on July 24 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, NY. For more information, visit http://www.pgcbl.org.
