At a cost of $550,000, Capilano Stadium, now known as Scotia Bank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, opened to a sellout crowd of 7,500, who showed up to watch the Vancouver Capilanos defeat the Salem Senators 10-3 on June 16, 1951.
