Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown Wednesday in Stockton

Banner Island Ballpark, home of the Single-A Stockton Ports (California League), will host the third Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown on Wednesday, July 4.  Former big leaguers and members of the California Vintage Base Ball Federation will don uniforms and use equipment from the 1880s.  The previous two games have been played in San Jose (CA) and Frisco (TX).  Read more here.

Wednesday, July 4th will be a special Independence Day celebration at Banner Island Ballpark.

Starting at 6 p.m. will be a vintage baseball game featuring former MLB players AND rules, traditions, and equipment from the game as played in 1886!

In addition to the vintage baseball game, at 2 p.m. there will a Youth Baseball Clinic hosted by the Major League Baseball Alumni Association, instructed by former MLB players and Hall-of-Fame members. The clinic will be an opportunity for children to learn from players that are the face of baseball history.

Following the game will be live band performances, as well as a traditional 4th of July fireworks presented by the Stockton Ports in cooperation with the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel and the Stockton Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

Gates open at 1 p.m. and an all-day pass costs just $5!
