  1. WBL woulda been better

This whole situation with David Martin was doomed from the start. Back in 2011, the city of London was to be the flagship club in the new Canadian Professional Woman’s Baseball League(WBL). The league was looking very promising with several sponsors in place and rosters set. The club was to play out of Labatt Park with the Majors and an arrangement of understanding was in place. Then came Martin with his Frontier League. This would throw off the balence of sponsorship money in the city as well as created an unworkable situation at Labatt Park as the WBL was deemed less important by the city who informed the fledgling league that now “they would need more information” before moving ahead. What what would have been a dream of many died that day.
The worst irony is that the team that effectively killed Pro Female Baseball for the forseeable future, topped it off by naming the team after a rapist. Just one more not so subtle shot. Very sad.
Good for you London Majors! Don’t do business with these people, you are too professional.

Hey David Martin – I bet you’re starting to regret not changing the name/logo eh? Seems a little ironic to be asking the community and local government to bend over backwards for you when you clearly communicated how much you care about them during the whole launch. You have to give a little to get a little my friend.

The London Tigers sold beer, so did the Werewolves I believe – at the end of the day it comes down to due dilligence – you should have been on the phone with the Control Board once you signed the lease. Now you’re back’s against a wall and you’re leaning on the community for help? The City of London and especially the London Majors don’t owe you a thing.

*NOTE* I was and still am fine with the name/logo, but the vast majority of Londoners were not. I can confidently say the London ‘anything but Rippers’ wouldd have been able to resolve this issue. I was very excited about the team comming to town but have to say now, they are really making themselves look extremely foolish.

  3. in the know

This guy Martin is a JOKE. First he names HIMSELF the field manager, talk about a wannabe and now this challenge? I wonder what his players thought of playing games over the all star break or on days off.
