PRESS RELEASE – The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is thrilled to announce the 2012 Summer Promotional Schedule. The MoonDogs home opener, which is Friday, June 1st at 7:05 PM, will be presented by Wealth Enhancement and AM 1230 The Fan in association with Radio Mankato featuring Hall of Famer Rick Aguilera and special appearance by Wally “The Beer Man” with a post game fireworks show!
The month of June is filled with great events that are sure to excite fans. One of the most electrifying events is the ZOOperstars National Entertainment Act on June 17th. The act is presented by KEYC and is considered to be Minor League Baseballs number one entertainment act!
July’s promotions will guarantee a full house at The Frank the entire month. We will start off the July promotional nights with our 4th of July celebration presented by Radio Mankato followed by Military Appreciation Night held on July 7th. The Rotary Clubs of St. James, Madelia, and Fairmont along with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committees of Watonwan, Brown & Martin Counties and KXLP present military night with a post game fireworks extravaganza. The MoonDog players will be supporting our troops with camouflage uniforms that will be later auctioned off!
A new entertainment act at the park this summer will be The Russian Bar Trio making their first appearance at The Frank on July 8th. The Trio is presented in part by Modern Woodman Fraternal Financial and KEYC. They are a great act that has been featured on America’s Got Talent!
The 2012 promotional schedule is filled with entertainment acts, giveaways, and fireworks. Fans will have the opportunity to see many of their favorite promotional events and many new surprises that are not to be missed.
The MoonDogs home opener is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 7:05 p.m. against the St. Cloud Rox at Franklin Rogers Park. 6th Magnet Schedule Night presented by AM 1230 The Fan Mankato. The first 1,000 fans receive a free 2012 MoonDogs magnet schedule.
7th Commemorative 2012 Franklin Rogers Park poster giveaway presented by Sport PiX and AM 1230 The Fan Manakto. The first 500 fans will receive a commemorative 2012 Franklin Rogers Park poster.
8th MAYBA/MAGFA Night presented by Hot 96.7. All kids wearing their MAYBA or MAGFA jerseys get in free with a paid adult!
9th Piggy Bank giveaway and quarter drop presented by Minnesota Valley Federal Credit Union and Minnesota 93. The first 250 kids 12 and under will receive a piggy bank and will be allowed to come onto the field post game and hunt for quarters courtesy of Minnesota Valley Federal Credit Union
11th Minute to Win It Night presented by Hot 96.7. Fans will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the night by competing in various contests throughout the night. St. Peter Night
12th Bark in the Park presented by BENCHS Any fan that brings their dog to the game gets in free. BENCHS fundraising.
13th Mascot Olympics presented by Hot 96.7. Come watch local mascots compete against Muttnik to be the best mascot in Mankato!
14th Scooby Doo presented by Charter Communications. Cartoon Network’s Scooby Doo makes an appearance at the Frank to pose for photographs.
15th Gas Grill giveaway presented by Blue Earth County Pork Producers, Protein Sources and Minnesota 93. All adults 18 and over have a chance to win a gas grill courtesy of Protein Sources. Waseca Night

19th Girls Night Out and Diamond Dig presented by Save Mor Jewelry and Hot 96.7. The first 250 women 18 and older to register online will have an opportunity to participate in the Diamond Dig! The winner will receive a ½ carat diamond courtesy of Save Mor Jewelry. The first 250 female fans will receive a coupon book filled with great offers from local businesses. 20th Cancer Awareness Night. The MoonDogs will be hosting various fundraisers to support the American Cancer Society throughout the night at the Frank!
21st Mankato Idol featuring Shelby Tweten presented by Hot 96.7. North Mankato’s own Shelby Tweten will be on hand to celebrate her accomplishments on American Idol. Shelby will be singing pre-game as well as signing autographs.
24th Think Pink Night presented by Liv Aveda Salon & Spa, Mankato Clinic and Hot 96.7. MoonDogs help raise breast cancer awareness by wearing pink jerseys and hats that will be auctioned off throughout the night with proceeds going to a local Susan G Komen team.
25th Daycare Day! Senior Day! All seniors get in for just $1.
30th MoonDogs Team Poster giveaway presented by the Disabled American Veterans and KXLP. The first 750 fans will receive a free MoonDogs team poster courtesy of the Disabled American Veterans.
2nd T-shirt giveaway presented by HickoryTech. The first 500 fans receive a free MoonDogs T-shirt courtesy of HickoryTech.
3rd Hot Dog Hundo Night. Various dollar bills will be located inside hot dog wrappers and one lucky fan will win $100 just for purchasing a hot dog.
4th 4th of July celebration presented by Radio Mankato. After the game head to Riverfront Park and see the City of Mankato’s Fireworks Display!
5th MoonDogs Baseball Card Night presented by Sport PiX and Hot 96.7. The first 500 kids receive a free pack of MoonDogs trading cards.
