PRESS RELEASE – The Battle Creek Bombers, members of the prestigious Northwoods League, released its 2012 Promotional Schedule today highlighted with six Firework shows, including Battle Creeks July 4th Fireworks display, three Thirsty Thursdays, six Souvenir Saturdays, including several commemorative 2011 Northwoods League Championship giveaways.
Single game tickets for the 2012 Battle Creek Bombers’ season can be purchased online at battlecreekbombers.com, by phone at 269-962-0735, or in person at the Bombers’ office located at 189 Bridge Street in Battle Creek.
The Bombers will begin their home schedule on Friday, June 1st with an Opening Night Championship Celebration including the Championship Banner unveiling, magnet schedule giveaway and the first Fireworks display of the season. The following night the celebration will continue with the unique “Pile on Plaque” giveaway to the first 500 lucky fans. This commemorative piece celebrates the moment the Bombers clinched the title.
The Bombers will host three Bobblehead giveaways for the 2012 season. To commemorate the work of the 2011 Northwoods League Manager of the Year, the Bombers will feature a “Donnie Scott Championship” Bobblehead courtesy of Flagstar Bank on June 23rd. The “Drew Stanton Kickball Classic” Bobblehead courtesy of Lakeview Ford will be featured on July 14th, and to celebrate the first Bombers player to play in the Major Leagues, August 11th will feature the Super Dave Sappelt Bobblehead giveaway, courtesy of Myers Chiropractic.
Some new items on the Bombers promotional slate include Star Wars Night on June 9th where fans will be able to get their picture taken with their favorite Star Wars character. July 11th will be “Rock Paper Scissors” Night in which fans will be able to compete against current Bombers in hopes of winning a free ticket to a future game. The Bombers will also be giving away rock, paper or scissors to the first 500 fans and 50 lucky fans will win a new set of scissors.
Dog-friendly promotions will return to C.O. Brown Stadium on Monday, June 11th with Bark in the Park courtesy of Battle Creek Downtown Partnership. This popular event allows fans to bring their canines with them to the stadium for free and enjoy the Monday night game. Special on-field promotions will be geared towards Man’s best friend.
In years past, the Bombers have featured a “Ladies Diamond Dig”; well this year it’s the “Dudes” turn. The “Dudes Diamond Dig” will be June 21st and will give guys the chance to dig up a new $1,000 jewelry piece courtesy of King Jewelers.
Celebrate Halloween early on Friday, July 13th as State Farm Insurance presents “Freak and Fireworks”. Anyone wearing a Halloween costume that night will receive a free ticket to a future game and prizes will be awarded to Best Male Costume, Best Female Costume and Cutest Kids Costume.
Junk food lovers rejoice, as “Junk Food Appreciation” Night will be held July 21st. In honor of Junk Food National Holiday all candy will be discounted that night. In addition, there will be a Nestle Crunch Bar and Kids Coloring Book Giveaway to the first 500 fans. The nationally acclaimed Inflatamaniacs will also be making an appearance at C.O. Brown stadium that night courtesy of Bronson Health.
The Battle Creek Bombers will also be holding two jersey theme nights Thursday, August 7th and Sunday, August 12th. The August 7th game is “Strikeout ALS Night” in which Bombers players will be wearing special ALS jerseys. The August 12th game is “Strikeout Cancer Night” and will feature the Bombers in purple jerseys. After each game, the jerseys will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go towards the ALS Association and American Cancer Society.
Every Monday will be “Stock Market Mondays”; at random, prices on the most popular concession items will “Crash” throughout the game. Tuesdays will be “$1 Deal Days” including $1 Pizza Slices and $1 Beers. Wednesdays will be “Winning Wednesdays” where Bomber fans will receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday’s game with a Bombers win. Thursdays the Bombers will continue with the popular “Thirsty Thursdays” with $1 beers and sodas. On Thursdays the Bombers will be hosting live local bands at the Longest Outdoor bar in Michigan. Ever Friday will be “Fireworks Fridays” and will feature an even better fireworks presentation than in years past all courtesy of Battle Creek and Marshall State Farm Insurance Agents. Saturdays will be “Souvenir Saturdays” and will feature Free Championship memorabilia, Bombers gear, Bobbleheads and even a car giveaway! Finally, Sundays will be Kids Extravaganza Sundays in which Kids rule the ballpark courtesy of Meijer. On Sundays kids eat free, kids and parents play catch on the field before the game, and after the game kids run the bases and can receive autographs and pictures with their favorite Bombers players.
Also added to the schedule are a slew of theme nights including Reading Club Night (June 3), Faith Night (June 4), Mosquito Appreciation Night (June 12), Carnival Night (June 20), Flagstar Bank Night (June 23), Post Day at the Park (July 1st), Scout Night (July 20), Chamber Night (July 31), Camp Day (August 1), Harley Davidson Night (August 7), Military Appreciation Night (August 8), State Farm Customer Appreciation Night (August 10) and Community Safety Crime Prevention Night (August 11).
