River Bandits to Give Away Replica World Series Rings

PRESS RELEASE – The Quad Cities River Bandits will join the St. Louis Cardinals and two other minor league affiliates in giving away replica World Series Championship rings this season. The Cardinals’ Class-A affiliate and the defending Midwest League Champions, the River Bandits, will give out the replica rings on a pair of Pay Your Bill Wednesdays presented by Mix 96 on Aug. 8 and Aug. 22.

The first 2,000 fans to Modern Woodmen Park on both Aug. 8 and Aug. 22 will receive the replica rings, which are made by Success Promotions.

“The replica World Series Championship rings are an exciting addition to our giveaway lineup at Modern Woodmen Park,” said River Bandits team owner Dave Heller. “These rings sold out in a matter of hours when the Cardinals gave them away in St. Louis, and they are now selling for as much as $75 apiece on eBay, but we wanted our fans to have an opportunity to own and treasure one of these fantastic World Series Championship replica rings.”

The River Bandits join the Double-A Springfield Cardinals, the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds and the major league St. Louis Cardinals as teams that have scheduled a giveaway of the replica rings this season.

On both giveaway dates, the games start at 7 p.m., and gates open at 5:30 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park. Both games are on Pay Your Bill Wednesdays presented by Mix 96, when fans can bring copies of their bills for a drawing in which two bills will be paid up to $100 by the River Bandits.

The Cardinals’ World Series Championship will highlight several nights throughout the remaining promotional schedule. The River Bandits will give away the bobblehead of first-year Cardinals manager Mike Matheny Saturday, July 21, presented by DHCU and FOX-18. In addition, the bobblehead of Cardinals outfielder Allen Craig will be given away Saturday, Aug. 11, presented by VISTA International Operations and WQAD-TV. Finally, a gnome of Cardinals pitcher Jason Motte will be given away Saturday, Aug. 18, courtesy of Bayside Smoothies and KWQC-TV.

“The Cardinals’ World Series Championship is a recurring highlight this season at Modern Woodmen Park,” said River Bandits General Manager Stefanie Brown. “The replica World Series Championship rings will be a great item for fans to wear or display to show their River Bandits and Cardinals pride.”

ABOUT THE BANDITS: After four years of ballpark improvements, the River Bandits and the City of Davenport last summer unveiled some of the most impressive enhancements to Modern Woodmen Park yet. A brand new, state of the art, high definition 20′ x 35′ video board went live on June 7, and the newly enclosed glass Sky Deck on the suite level of Modern Woodmen Park was completed last August. Those improvements, in addition to new flood protection, a new front plaza, and a new parking lot directly across the street from the ballpark, are quickly making Modern Woodmen Park one of the premier facilities in all of Minor League Baseball. More improvements are scheduled for this coming season!
