The summer collegiate Seacoast Mavericks (Futures Collegiate Baseball League) based in Rochester (NH) will play six of their home games this season at Leary Field near downtown Portsmouth (NH). Portsmouth has remained a target market over the years, but efforts to build a new facility or renovate Leary have never come to fruition. Concerns about displacing the local youth teams at Leary has also remained an obstacle for groups looking to place a franchise in the coastal city. Read more here.
