Goldeyes Introduce Angry Fish Pilsner

PRESS RELEASE – A year after introducing the Angry Fish logo, the Winnipeg Goldeyes and Fort Garry Brewing Company introduced Angry Fish Pilsner (see photo here) today at Shaw Park.

Building on a partnership that was established in 2003, the Goldeyes and Fort Garry Brewing have created a pilsner-style beer that is very popular in Manitoba. The light-tasting beer, which has been in the works for the past four years, will be available at Shaw Park, Manitoba Liquor Marts and beer vendors across Manitoba, starting Friday, May 18.

“Fort Garry Brewing is very excited to create the Angry Fish Pilsner for Goldeyes fans throughout the province,” said Orest Horechko of Fort Garry Brewing. “After an extensive testing process with the Goldeyes staff, we came up with a great tasting product that Goldeyes fans can enjoy while watching a great game at Shaw Park.”

Aside from the Angry Fish Pilsner, fans at Shaw Park will still be able to purchase other great Fort Garry products, such as Fort Garry Pale Ale and Fort Garry Dark Ale. The Goldeyes are the only professional sports team in Winnipeg to serve Fort Garry products.

“For nearly the last decade, the Goldeyes have been proud to serve Fort Garry products. The Angry Fish Pilsner will compliment the pale ale and dark ale products our fans can already purchase at Shaw park,” Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said.

The limited edition beer is available in a 473 ml can and can be purchased in a variety of quantities.

Fans looking to purchase season tickets and nine-game mini packs for the 2012 season can call the Goldeyes office at 982-BASE (2273) or visit the Shaw Park box office.
