Saints Feeling Positive About New Ballpark Funding

The bill passed by the Minnesota State Legislature Thursday providing funding for a new stadium for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings didn’t include any specific dollars for a new $54 million Lowertown ballpark for the indy pro St. Paul Saints (American Association), but there is confidence that grant funding will be awarded for the project via a new $50 million economic development fund administered by the Minnesota Department of Employement and Economic Development.  Read more here.  For a discussion about the behind the scenes maneuvering at the State Capitol that might be giving the Saints confidence, read more here
