PRESS RELEASE – The Carolina Mudcats recently announced that Darren Headrick has joined the organization as Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting. Headrick will serve as the “Voice of the Mudcats” for all 140 games.

The Mudcats Radio Network adds two new affiliates for the 2012 season. The flagship station for Mudcats baseball will be 98.5 FM The Big Dawg. Mudcats’ games will also be available on WRNS FM 95.1, and Saturday night games will air on 106.1 FM Rush Radio. Audio for every game is available through the team website at In addition, fans can hear the games on their mobile device through the TuneIn application, a free download.

“We are extremely excited to add The Big Dawg and WRNS to the Mudcats Radio Network alongside Rush Radio this season,” Headrick said. “Having all 140 games available on the airwaves throughout eastern North Carolina, combined with streaming on the internet and mobile devices, it gives our fans easy access to our broadcast.”

Headrick spent last season with the Oklahoma City RedHawks, the AAA-affiliate of the Houston Astros. Prior to 2011, Headrick worked alongside veteran broadcaster Mick Gillispie and the Tennessee Smokies in the Southern League for three seasons.

I am looking forward to expanding our working relationship with the media, and I can’t wait to meet our great fans.”
