The Wilmington (NC) City Council has unanimously approved a plan to begin formal negotiations with the Atlanta Braves and Mandalay Baseball Properties to bring the Single-A Lynchburg Hillcats (Carolina League) to the Port City. Not everyone is happy, including Darrell Handelsman, owner of the summer collegiate Wilmington Sharks (Coastal Plain League), who argued that if the Braves come to town, it would kill off his team.
