Sweets Launch Hat Club for 2012 Season

PRESS RELEASE – With the start of the 2012 season of Walla Walla Sweets baseball just around the corner the team is introducing a fun new option for fans. Lou’s Lid Alliance will be the official hat club of the Sweets, and will feature a new custom, fitted cap every three months. Each unique hat will be available only through membership in the club.

“We’ve had a number of requests to increase the variety of our fitted caps,” said Sweets’ director of retail operations Phil Giammalva. “We think the club will provide a unique retail option for fans.”

The cost of joining the club will be $120, plus tax, to be paid in quarterly installments. There is also a discounted $110, pay it now option, for fans who want to pay for all four quarters at one time. Individuals who sign-up will be committing to four quarters of the program, with each cap costing $30. Out of state members will have the option of having the cap shipped to them for an additional fee. Lou’s Lid Alliance will launch its first quarter with a limited edition green fitted St. Patrick’s Day cap with a specially designed logo.

“I am extremely excited for this,” said Sweets general manager Zachary Fraser, the Alliance’s first member. “This is definitely for the Sweets fan that is looking to push the envelope a little bit, to get a little crazy and experiment with the creative capabilities our brand offers. We anticipate this to be a unique and different offering than the many cap options we currently have.”

In addition to receiving four caps, hat club members will receive a 15% discount to the Sweets Shoppe every Monday from April through August. The Sweets will also offer a loyalty program to members who sign up for 12 consecutive quarters. At the end of the three year period, loyalty members will receive a $30 gift certificate to the Sweets Shoppe. Members will be able to participate in yearly contests to have their own designs featured on a future lid.
