“We are very happy to welcome Patrick to the Suns family,” said Suns Owner Bruce Quinn. “He possesses a true baseball mind and understands the business of baseball as well as anyone. Patrick has a proven track record and is well respected throughout professional baseball. We couldn’t be more excited to add him to our team as opening day on April fifth approaches.”
Anderson spent nine years with the Kansas City Royals and the past three years serving as the head coach of the Hofstra University baseball team where helped guide eight players to All-Colonial Athletic Association honors and one to a Major League Draft selection.
“Patrick’s experience is not only limited to coaching, he played professionally in the late 1990s for two independent league teams and was an all-star for both organizations,” said Suns General Manager Bill Farley. “He brings a vast knowledge of independent baseball business management to the Suns.”
A native of Silver Springs, MD, Anderson is a 1997 graduate of Mars Hill College (NC) where he earned a degree in physical education and a concentration in sports management. Anderson will contribute to the Suns baseball camps and corporate sales department while serving as an advisor to improve operational and entertainment processes.
