R-Phils Unveil Double Bobblehead for Doubleheader Opening Day

PRESS RELEASE – As promised, the Reading Phillies are proud to announce that an exclusive double bobblehead of Ryan Howard and the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor will be given away on Opening Night as the R-Phils take on the Portland Sea Dogs in a doubleheader.

On Thursday, April 5th, the first 2,500 adults 21 and over will receive the giveaway honoring two of Baseballtown’s most cherished personalities courtesy of All Star Distributing/Coors Light. The duo both made their first appearance at FirstEnergy Stadium in 2004, with the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor famously surprising Howard at the 2006 Baseballtown Winter Banquet.

In addition to the double bobblehead, a special 6 for $66 ticket package has also been announced. With the new mini-plan, fans will receive a yellow box ticket to the 2012 Baseballtown All-Star Classic (Wednesday, July 11), the Baseballtown All-Star Home Run Derby & Autograph Session (Tuesday, July 10), and the Opening Night doubleheader featuring the Ryan Howard/Crazy Hot Dog Vendor double bobblehead. They will also be able to select three additional regular season home games of their choice to complete the six-game plan.

“This new 6 for $66 plan is the best way for fans to guarantee tickets to the three biggest events in Baseballtown this season before they go on sale to the general public,” said R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. “With today’s announcement of the double bobblehead giveaway on Opening Night, the 6 for $66 mini-plan is a can’t-miss opportunity for any R-Phils fan.”

The 6 for $66 mini-plan offer expires January 31st – so fans should act quickly to take advantage of this plan before it’s too late.

Any fan that purchases a mini-plan, including the 6 for $66 plan, or season ticket plan also has the opportunity to purchase additional tickets to any of the Baseballtown All-Star Classic events. Each package also comes with a free 2012 Baseballtown All-Star Classic pint glass per ticket plan purchased.

Other 2012 ticket packages are also available, including an 11-game plan or six-game plan. The 11-game plan features a yellow box seat to any 11 2012 R-Phils home games and a ticket to both All-Star Classic events for just $126. The six-game plan features a yellow box seat to any six 2012 R-Phils home games and a ticket to both All-Star Classic events for just $86.

Fans looking to purchase the 6 for $66 plan or any other ticket package can order by phone at 610-370-BALL, online at http://www.readingphillies.com, or in-person at the Reading Phillies Ticket Office located at FirstEnergy Stadium.
